Calabria

In the south of the peninsula lies Calabria the toe of the “boot”. This region is between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Sea and is separated from Sicily by the Strait of Messina. Calabria is a unique place to visit both in summer and winter. There are many works of art in the foreground as the Bronze Statues, exhibited in the National Museum of Reggio Calabria, exhibiting by the presence of Ancient Greece in its ancient past. These beautiful statues, representing two warrior heroes, are a rare example of classical Greek sculpture. Among its 800km of beaches, Calabria offers many choices. Capo Vaticano, in the province of Vibo Valentia, is defined one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world: a long stretch of fine sand, surrounded by olive trees and lapped by crystal clear waters populated by a huge variety of fish fauna. Some of the most interesting places to visit are the parks of Sila, Serre, Aspromonte and Pollino. Winter sports offered by this region are various, due to the wide range of equipped ski resorts located in this area.
